Here is the mother of My First Dragon Neo, Jeanette Kennett, talking about irresistible desire. She’s an ethics professor and she was my philosophy professor when I studied philosophy in my first university degree.
I disagree that a police officer is not always at your elbow. It turns out that not only is such a police officer always there when you need him, but he’s perpetually succumbing to temptation himself – see my previous posts about her son, Detective Kennett, discussing his fantasy that his nemesis is always just around the corner, waiting to have her way with him.
Does this theatrical enactment represent a microcosm of the current global catastrophe we are experiencing – when the best policeman we could hope for (the son of an ethics professor) has one toe firmly dipped in the Devil’s den of debauchery?
Either way, it’s a very funny situation and that’s why Chris pitched my previous posts to the head of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Dylan Cole (Chris works for them).
