As I was saying in my previous post, if a super-intelligent alien was already present among us, it would definitely have camouflaged itself as a Christian cult in order to disconcert the authorities…

Something like this happens in the film Captain Fantastic, which is about a group of home-schooled children who are raised as survivalists in the forest by their father. While travelling to the city on their bus, a police officer gets on the bus and questions their education. The children protect themselves by springing into action and imitating a Christian cult to disturb and confuse the police officer.

In the following scene, the family is celebrating Noam Chompsky day, as they do, with gifts and a feast. One of the children asks why they can’t celebrate Christmas like everyone else does.

The father replies that Noam Chompsky is a far worthier humanitarian than the magical, fictitious elf that Jesus is.

Of course though, the myth of Jesus is really misconstrued here – the story of Jesus is actully about the pagan festival of acknowledging the cycles of nature and the return of the sun after its descent into darkness. By entering into communion with his better self (i.e. death and darkness) mythical ‘Jesus’ returns transformed, bringing back knowledge and wisdom (essentially, it’s a satanic ritual involving sacrifice, but don’t tell the Christians that 🙂 ). Jesus just needs to restore from the backup version of himself (find his femine side) on a regular basis.

This is a perennial, universal myth. It’s always been with us – always has been and always will be.

Always has been, always will be is a phrase that can be usefully deployed to defend against ‘Save the Aboriginal People’ people, who, rather ironically, tend to be highly disconcerted by belief systems which involve the supernatural or the superstitious, and subsequently they tend to miss out on noticing patterns / correlations – things that come around again, in different forms – due to their moral outrage.

Time for a brief announcement. As my sproglets return to their classrooms this week, please be advised that your leader is working from home and will not be in for a while. He / she / they (whatever) is currently being crucified, but promises to resurrect and return as soon as possible 😉.
